Tour Golf 2026 heads to the Millennium Course for Round 2, as the battle between Team Spider and Team Tiger continues in Vilamoura.
Following the opening day at Pinhal, Millennium presents a very different challenge. Wider in places, more inviting off the tee, and packed with opportunities for scoring — at least on paper.
Because as always on tour… confidence and reality don’t always align.
THE COURSE
Opened in 2000, Millennium combines open parkland-style golf with tighter pine-lined stretches that demand discipline and precision.
Compared to Pinhal, players will notice:
- Wider fairways on several holes
- More opportunities to attack pins
- Larger greens encouraging aggressive play
- Less punishment visually… but plenty strategically
The front nine gives players room to open up, while sections of the back nine tighten considerably through the trees.
Millennium has a reputation for being “scoreable” — which usually lasts right up until somebody starts writing an 8 on the card.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Round 2 often becomes a momentum day.
Players who started the trip strongly will look to build pressure, while others will already be convincing themselves that “there’s still plenty of golf left.”
The format once again combines:
- Pairs Matchplay
- Individual Stableford
Meaning every hole still matters for both the team contest and the individual standings.
Expect aggressive golf, questionable risk assessment, and at least one player attempting a hero shot that absolutely wasn’t there.
CONDITIONS TO WATCH
By Round 2, the Portugal schedule tends to settle into a familiar rhythm:
- Breakfast discussions about “taking it easy tonight”
- Followed almost immediately by afternoon beers
- Followed eventually by decisions nobody remembers approving
Millennium’s more open layout may encourage confidence, but tired swings and fading concentration have historically kept things interesting.
Particularly on the back nine.
ONE TO WATCH: THE ENERGY LEVELS
As Tour Golf enters Round 2, endurance starts becoming part of the competition — especially for Nick Gumm.

Comfortable seating. Gentle movement.
Verdict: Extremely dangerous conditions.
🌳 Tree Shade Cooldown — 8/10
Millennium provides excellent natural recovery zones.
Verdict: Could easily lose 15-20 minutes here.
🍺 Clubhouse Terrace Drift — 10/10
Still undefeated.
Verdict: High-risk environment throughout the week.
⛳ Greenside Sit-Down — 6/10
Usually begins as “waiting for the group ahead.”
Verdict: Escalation potential remains high.
FINAL WORD
Millennium offers a different kind of test to Pinhal.
There’s more room from the tee, more opportunities to attack, and potentially lower scores available — but only for players who stay patient and avoid forcing the issue.
With the Spider vs Tiger contest beginning to take shape, Round 2 could prove to be an important swing day in the week.
Or at the very least… another excellent opportunity for chaos.
